![]() Both in-process modules and out-of-process executables have access to the SimConnect API, noting the following: Thanks very much for helping me solve this vexing puzzle. The SimConnect SDK can be used by programmers to write add-on components that communicate with Microsoft Flight Simulator. Which is good, because my next option was to uninstall FSX and all the add-ons I'd loaded over the last three days and start over. Trying to connect to SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07. Reading options from "D:\Simulations\FSX\Modules\FSUIPC4.ini" Then I started FSX, with the Modules folder and FSUIPC4 in place. And then I tried SP2, which ran just fine and installed successfully. I decided that since FSX had been rolled back a ways - a long ways, maybe even back further than SP1 - I should install SP1. So I walked away and thought about it for a while. What!?! What does this bleep bleeping machine think I'm running here? Instead I got a message that SP2 required the English language version of FSX, and the install terminated. When it was done, I ran it again, thinking I could now reinstall. My only choice was uninstall, so I ran it. When I ran it, I saw that it only showed two options, to repair FSX or to uninstall SP2. If you want to try the updated version download 4.728 from the Download Links subforum. This will probably get around your problem - though the recommended solution remains the same, get your FSX installation up to date. This has prompted me to change FSUIPC4 so that it checked the FSX.EXE version and refuses to use a later version of SimConnect. The SimConnect version is the same for SP2 and Acceleration. I would recommend this is any case as it fixes many FSX bugs.įor information, FSX.EXE version numbers are: ![]() The proper solution is to install either the FSX SP2 update, or Acceleration if you have it. FSUIPC always wants to use the most up to date one you have, but the two are not compatible and it is that which is causing the fatal error. I also noticed a post someplace in your forum about Active Sky being the culprit in a similar situation, but I don't even see a listing for it in the dll.xml. And, I wondered if the FSUIPC4 path was properly written - I don't know what it should be, but it didn't look right to my novice's eyes. I am by no means qualified to try to sort this stuff out (so forgive me in advance), but I noticed two things: Clearly the run logs did not complete properly (duh!). \Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dllĬ:\Program Files (x86)\SquawkBox\sbtrans10.dllĬ:\Program Files (x86)\SquawkBox\sbaicontrol10.dllĬ:\Program Files (x86)\SquawkBox\sbmod10.dll \Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll \Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Looking in registry for FSX install path: ![]() XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Here are 4 files: the FSUIPC4 4.703 install log, the load logs for 4.703 and 4.727, and the dll.xml file. dll from the Downloads dir and running with it. I found what sounded like a similar problem in a post on your forums, and tried the solution you suggested, grabbing the 4.727 version of the. If I remove the Modules folder (I saved it) and start it, FSX runs fine. But FSX now will not start it throws a fatal error during loading. Then I installed FSUIPC4 4.703 and got the successful install message. I tested FSX after each installation except the Squawkbox (I was holding off until I had FSUIPC4 installed) and everything seemed to be fine. I installed 30 or so after-market aircraft and several add-ons, including vasFMC 1.10, FSBuild 2.4.0.18, ASE build 647, and Squawkbox 4.0.0 (8669). I recently did a new install of FSX Deluxe on a new computer, running Windows 7, 64-bit.
